Elevate Student and Parents Seminar 06.11.2018
Published 07/11/18We were delighted to welcome Megan from Elevate Education to St. Bede's Catholic College yesterday to work with our GCSE and A Level students in preparation for their forthcoming GCSE and A Level examinations. Megan offered wonderful advice and ways to time manage, set goals and increase motivation when revising.
Later that day, parents were invited to an evening seminar where Megan offered examples of ways to encourage, motivate and support children during the exam period. A very useful and informative evening, thank you to Megan and Elevate.
This is the first of a number of seminars which will be offered to our Year 11 and A Level students this academic year.

Wellness Evening for Parents 16.10.2018

Many thanks to the very large number of parents/carers who attended the ‘Wellness Fortnight - Parent event‘ recently here at the college. We were delighted to welcome Emma Balfour Educational Psychologist and Stuart Melvin Primary Mental Health Specialist CAMHS, who presented a fascinating insight into some key issues for young people and the adults who care for them.
The presentation covered a range of topics including;
Physiological changes
The struggle for independence and identity
Setting limits and boundaries
Communication and listening
Peer influence
The evening was peppered with lively discussion between parents, sharing thoughts and experiences about ‘what is going on in the teenage brain’. A copy of the information as promised on the evening is available below: Understanding Adolescence.

A Level and GCSE Results Arrangements
Published 25/06/18A Level Results - Thursday 16th August
From 6.00am students will be able to log on to UCAS track to check the status of their application.
Year 13 results will be available from 8.00am for students who do not have a confirmed university place and from 9.30am for students who do have a confirmed university place and for all other students.
Results can be collected from the Areté building. Miss Kirkbright and Ms Hector will be able to help with any university queries or concerns.
GCSE Results - Thursday 23rd AugustGCSE Results can be collected from the college between 10.00am—12noon.
Enrolment for Areté Sixth Form will take place in the Areté building on the following days:
Thursday 23rd August - 10.00am—2.00pm
Friday 24th August - 10.00am—2.00pm
Monday 3rd September - 1.30pm—3.30pm
We are expecting to be busy, so please try and make it on 23rd August to avoid disappointment. If you are on holiday and are unable to attend, please email sixthform@stbcc.org and we can help with your enrolment.
