  • OLYMPIAN TESS HOWARD INSPIRES STUDENTS

St Bede’s Catholic College was incredibly proud to welcome Olympian Tess Howard for a special visit on Wednesday, 22nd April, an event that proved to be both inspiring and memorable for everyone involved.

Our Year 10 students took part in an exclusive assembly titled “What makes an Olympian, in shorts?” During the session, Tess shared her personal journey to elite sport, speaking openly about the challenges she has faced along the way. Her message strongly focused on resilience, passion, and teamwork, leaving a lasting impression on our pupils.

The talk itself was truly inspirational, with students fully engaged throughout. Tess’s honesty and enthusiasm helped bring her experiences to life, encouraging students to reflect on their own goals and how they can overcome obstacles in both sport and everyday life.

Following the talk, a group of our students were specially selected to take part in a series of insightful workshops, where they explored key skills and mindsets needed to succeed. These sessions allowed pupils to actively engage with Tess’s message, making the experience even more meaningful.

Adding to the excitement of the day, some of our students were also filmed as part of a promotional video, giving them a unique opportunity to showcase their involvement and be part of something special.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience for all involved, and we are incredibly grateful to Tess for taking the time to visit and inspire our students.
