We are Officially an Associate Lasallian School!

What Being a Lasallian School Means for Us:
- Faith in the Presence of God: We cultivate a respectful, reflective environment where every student learns to recognise God in their daily lives and treat others with dignity.
- Concern for the Poor and Social Justice: Our students are empowered to look beyond themselves, developing empathy through hands-on projects and community outreach.
- Quality Education: We remain committed to academic excellence, fostering critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and a lifelong love of learning.
- Inclusive Community: We celebrate diverse backgrounds and talents, ensuring every child feels valued, safe, and supported.
- Respect for All Persons: Kindness, empathy, and mutual respect form the foundation of how our students, staff, and families interact every day.

The timeless wisdom of St John Baptist de la Salle continues to guide how we care for and educate our students:
"To touch the hearts of your students and to inspire them with the Christian spirit is the greatest miracle you can perform."
"You are called to be ministers of God and distributors of His mysteries to the children entrusted to your care."
"Example makes a much greater impression than words." — St. John Baptist de La Salle
What will it look like?
Like any journey, we will be taking our time to consider how we will work with the core principles of being Lasallian.
Initially, the most visible thing will be around prayer; we have introduced a call and response style prayer at the beginning of every lesson. It looks like this:

Here is why we do it:
The Start of the lesson: "Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.“
- A Pause: School is busy. This takes five seconds to hit pause, quiet our minds, and reset between subjects
- A Reminder: It reminds us that God is already in our classroom—in our teacher, our classmates, and ourselves.
- A Safe Space: No matter how stressful the day is, this classroom
is a holy space where everyone matters.
The End of the lesson: "Live… Jesus in our hearts, Forever!“
- Taking It with You: When the bell rings, we don’t leave God in the classroom.
- Actions, Not Just Words: Letting Jesus live in our hearts means walking out the door and copying Him—by being kind in the corridors, helpful at lunch, and respectful to everyone.
- "Forever": The values we learn here aren't just for school; they are for the rest of our lives.
Becoming an Associate Lasallian School allows us to draw on global resources, teacher formation programs, and student retreats—enriching the Catholic education we deliver every day.
We look forward to walking this path together as a school community.
