Submit an application form to the local authority where you live when your child is in Year 6 and our Supplementary Information Form to provide evidence of your child’s faith. Both forms are available from the beginning of September and must be completed by 31st October.
It gives you the opportunity to evidence your child’s faith by submitting a baptismal certificate for example. In the event that the school is oversubscribed for Year 7 places, priority will go to Catholic children. Please make sure you have copies of your child’s certificates well in advance of the application process.
College tours for Year 6 families will run on Tuesday-Friday mornings at 9:30 from the second week of term in September. To book a place email blakel@stbcc.org Open Evening will be 6-8pm on 2nd October 2025.
Deferring entry to secondary school is at the discretion of the Principal and requests should be made in writing well in advance to ensure a smooth transition. Please email walkerc@stbcc.org, PA to the Principal, explaining the situation and why it is necessary for your child to wait a year before starting secondary school.
Every year is different and whilst we can’t predict this year’s applications you can see how places were allocated last year here. The admissions policy clearly sets out the priority groups for applicants and the oversubscription criteria to help you make an informed decision. Advice from Bristol City Council on expressing your preferences can be found here.
Places become available when a student leaves the College.
Children are grouped on the waiting list according to the admissions policy, for example a Catholic child living in the catchment area will be in priority group 2. When a place becomes available, it will be allocated to the child in the highest priority group. If there is more than one child within the same priority group, a child will be selected by random allocation.
No, students will only be admitted to the year group that corresponds to their age.
Academic or sporting achievements are not taken into consideration when allocating places.
