Over the last six months, Areté student Shanaz Sharonsenthil has represented St. Bede's at the 2019 Gabblers Speaking Competition.
Last week saw the Grand Final of the competition with 20 speeches delivered by Sixth Form students from schools across Bristol.
The event, held at the Bristol Hotel, was a great success with staff, family and several Areté students in attendance to support Shanaz. Her speech, entitled 'Wise Cracks' which focussed on gender stereotypes and feminism was both thought-provoking and highly relevant.
Taking the four speeches Shanaz has performed into account over the last year, she was announced as the winner of the competition and presented the prestigious Gabbler of the Year 2019 Award.
Congratulations to Shanaz for this fantastic achievement!
